Training at the Sky Climber® Facility in Delaware, Ohio
Learn the proper methods for servicing your Sky Climber hoists, as well as, how to safely use suspended access equipment.This comprehensive 3½ -day course mixes theory with hands-on instruction; including presentations, demonstrations, and
bench repair.
The course material includes the following:
- Disassembly, inspection troubleshooting and re-assembly of the mechanical portion of Compact and Alpha hoists only.
- Disassembly, inspection troubleshooting and re-assembly of Sky Locks type II and type III.
- Inspection and repair of air motors (Spitznas & Gast Only) used in Compact and Alpha hoists.
- Electrical theory and troubleshooting of electrical motors.
- Proper set-up and use of Sky Climber topside rigging equipment, platforms, work cages and bosun chairs.
- Wire rope specifications and their preparation for use.
- Personal fall arrest equipment requirements.
- OSHA, ANSI and UL regulations.
Attendees who successfully complete the service training courses selected are issued Certificates of Completion that are valid for 4 years. You may choose to be trained on all models, or select one model course. The Applications/Safety Training course may be taken alone or in connection with service training. Attendees who successfully complete the applications/safety & regulations training course are issued laminated Identification Cards that are valid for 5 years. At the end of these periods holders will be required to complete another course for renewal.
The training is formatted such that attendees may take all or part of the course. Each major section of training is tested at thetime of completion. Class space is limited and by reservation only. You will need to make your class reservation early.Special unscheduled classes may be arranged if your company can provide six people to fill the class.
Available courses subjects and durations are as follows:
- Compact Series & Alpha 1000 Course – 2 days duration (Tuesday and Wednesday)
- Alpha 1500 Course – ½ day duration (Friday a.m.)
- Applications/Safety & Regulations Course – 1 day duration (Thursday)
Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. each day and end at 5:00 p.m. each day, except Friday when class ends at 12 noon, unlessotherwise arranged.
Per person costs are as follows:
- ½ -day Course – $200.00
- 2½-day Course – $500.00
